Snack Sized Review: Saigon Noodle
Everyone has their go-to hangover meal. Maybe you prefer a nice greasy cheeseburger or hair of the dog (eek). My hangover meal of choice is pho. And if my family is reading this, I’m totally joking about the whole drinking-to-excess thing…
So after those nights of unfortunate choices, I drag myself out of bed and over to Saigon Noodle for a steaming bowl of pho. It’s nourishing, satisfying and best of all, cheap! Cheap is always appreciated when everything else in LA is overpriced.
They have a wide pho selection, but I stick with the rare steak pho. It comes with a plate of bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, onions, and lime. I add ALL THE THINGS, and also add sriracha and hoisin sauce. It tastes like home; well, if I was from Vietnam and not Indiana.
This place is pretty dead whenever I come in, and the service is just meh. The pho does come out quickly though. If you’re into sports, there’s a tv to watch the big game. The paper placemats include fun chinese astrology. I’m a tiger, apparently.
