Snack Sized Review: Lucky Baldwins Pub
My Saturday was spent at Lucky Baldwins’ IPA festival, although I forgot to bring my glass! If you buy a glass, you get the refill prices every time you bring your glass. It’s a pretty good deal if you are a local wanting to get your money’s worth in good beer.
Usually I sit out on the patio, but I was too cold to sit outside last time. I love the patio area, and whenever a friend’s in town and wants to drink and chill, this is where I take her. The interior is great for that “hole-in-the-wall” bar feel.
To drink, I had the Black Market Rye IPA. It was delicious! I’m not really an IPA drinker, but this was one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had.
I really want to be amazed by their food, but I don’t think it’s as good as it was a year ago. The fish-n-chips were crispy and perfectly fried, but bland. The Steak-n-Guiness pie was better. I loved the flaky pie crust. Their bread pudding used to be the best bread pudding EVER, but they changed the recipe a while ago, and I was so disappointed I never ordered it again. Bring back the old bread pudding! Maybe I should start a campaign, or make a t-shirt.
